Districts of Sargodha Division

Sargodha District

The division’s namesake and administrative centre: a dense urban core around Sargodha City, Pakistan’s citrus (kinnow) belt, and a major higher-education hub including the University of Sargodha. Regional police and many public services are coordinated from here. It is the most populous district in the division.

Bhakkar District

West of the Chenab, Bhakkar blends Thal and riverine agriculture with cotton ginning, sugar, and small-scale industry. The district headquarters at Bhakkar City anchors services for a largely rural population and connects the division to southern Punjab corridors.

Khushab District

Known globally for Khewra salt mines and strong rice-processing activity, Khushab links Khushab City and Jauharabad with mining, light industry, and nuclear-sector facilities. Terrain ranges from salt range hills to fertile plains.

Mianwali District

On the Indus, Mianwali combines Thal agriculture with cement, coal, and power generation — including the Chashma nuclear complex. It sits on the Punjab–KP interface, with engineering and textile activity supporting a diverse economy.
